Blackriver | Professional Fingerboard Ramps Since 1999

Blackriver was founded in 1999 with the goal of producing professional fingerboard ramps. These immediately became very popular due to the good craftmanship and look and feel. Ramps were only the beginning, as since then Blackriver has produced fingerboard ramps, trucks, graphic decks, wheels, griptape and tuning. Its range continues to grow through constant product innovation and development. Blackriver products are handmade in Germany by fingerboarders who understand the scene.

Blackriver ramps come in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit any park build, whether this be a large park at home or obstacles for on-the-go use. The pocket kicker and street kicker are great obstacles for beginners as they help to give more pop to practice complicated flips due to the increased airtime.

If you are looking for a larger ramp, the stairset would be our favourite. This stairset has low and wide steps, a decent handrail, and a London gap all combined in one ramp. If concrete is more your thing, you might be more suited to the parking block or jersey barrier. These are both great for grinds and perfecting combos.

The evolution of fingerboarding:

Back in 2002, Timo Lieben created the first small wooden fingerboards in Berlin, pioneering the path for replacing plastic with wood and marking the beginning of Berlinwood. Since then, Berlinwood has provided the fingerboard scene with top-quality wooden decks and is constantly developing the design. To achieve the best performance, the nose and tail of Berlinwood fingerboards have different lengths and angles, like professional skateboards. Since 2009, Berlinwood decks have been produced in the Blackriver headquarters to ensure high quality is delivered throughout.

We also stock Blackriver Fingerboards, including the classic skull design, which is probably the most iconic and sought-after graphic from the whole Blackriver collection. The graphic is available in various colours, so you can select your favourite.

Don't forget about the trucks...

Blackriver fingerboard trucks are a must if you want to take your fingerboard skills to the next level. They feature renowned precision steering, awesome feeling and real wear, just like skateboard trucks. Additionally, they have been improved with reinforced steel single axles, strengthened lock-nuts and thicker, reinforced baseplates, which also have the Blackriver skull embossed on them.

Blackriver trucks are designed to have a faster pop and a more realistic feel. With loose-fitting trucks, the fingerboard turns a good amount, and more than some other branded trucks.

The wheelbase of a fingerboard deck determines how far apart the trucks are from each other and how far they are from the end of the deck. The wheelbase impacts how your fingerboard pops. Blackriver trucks will be closer together when compared to Dynamic. If you have a deck where the board feels too steep or the trucks are too far apart from one another, Blackriver trucks may be more suitable.

Blackriver 3.0 trucks come in a variety of colours, which makes it perfect for colour-matching your setup. They are available in 32mm, 34mm and 36mm depending on your deck size preference.

Blackriver also sell first aid repair kits, which means if a single part of the truck breaks or wears down quicker than the rest, you can just replace the single part. This is more cost-effective as it means you don't have to buy a brand-new set of trucks.
