The card can be used towards purchasing any products, including ones which are discounted. Gift card can not be returned.

Purchasing for someone else? You can either enter the recipients email address or forward the email on the day you wish. Forwarding the email will transfer all the needed information and still support functionality such as adding to Apple Wallet.
Can someone pay using part gift card and part card/PayPal? Of course, if the order total is for more than the gift card, the remainder can be paid using regular payment methods. This allows the entire gift card to be used.
